Trait-based access

Restrict a Solana collection rule to NFT metadata traits and values.

Any NFT vs Specific traits

The collection-rule editor offers two Access condition modes. Any NFT uses collection ownership plus the minimum quantity. Specific traits adds metadata filters to the collection rule.

Create a trait rule

  1. 1Start a Solana Collection rule and select a verified collection.
  2. 2In Access condition, choose Specific traits.
  3. 3Choose a Trait from the synchronized metadata options.
  4. 4Choose a Value. The selector can show how many synchronized NFTs contain that value.
  5. 5Use Add trait to add another filter when needed.
  6. 6Complete the remaining rule fields and save.

Match behavior

The current trait-rule builder uses any-filter matching: an NFT is eligible when at least one configured trait row matches. This is different from Holder Snapshot, which separately offers Match any and Match all when multiple snapshot filters are present.

Trait data must exist first

If the collection has no synchronized NFT attributes, Medusa shows that no NFT attributes are available and the trait rule cannot be completed.
